LAVA UPDATE: Tuesday, July 26, 2 pm – Pulama Pali and Kalapana overflight

Flow 61G reached the ocean early this morning!  Our flights over the area confirmed that lava is pouring into the sea after crossing the emergency access road yesterday.  Here are a couple shots of the new ocean entry.  More to come tomorrow!

Lava began entering the sea just after 1 am this morning, dribbling over the cliff at first, then flowing more steadily as volume increased.
