November 20, 2018 – Mackenzie-Pohoiki Road (VIDEO)

November 20, 2018 Mackenzie-Pohoiki Road from Mick Kalber on Vimeo.

A brand new road connecting the red road from Mackenzie to Pohoiki is now complete. Numerous sea arches and black sand beaches dot the coastline from Mackenzie to Kapoho… some of the nicest new beaches are along the sea cliffs of Mackenzie at the beginning of the new road. The road is apparently only open to home and land owners in the Pohoiki area… hopefully, it will be open to the public soon. Leilani, First Responder Ducky, Special Guest Kara Regehr, Bruce Omori and I were back up with Paradise Helicopters’ superb pilot Sean Regehr. Paradise Helicopters and Sean… you guys no ka oi!

  1. Once again, thanks so much for the video update. The changes, over time, are amazing. What really gets me is that the fissure line is still venting steam for as far as the eye can see. It seems that Pele is letting everyone know that it’s just a short nap she’s taking.

For some reason your videos freeze on me about every 2 to 4 seconds. I constantly have to click on the progress bar about where It’s frozen to get another couple of seconds of motion. Sure wish I knew why, and how to correct it. I don’t seem to have that problem on Youtube or any other site. If you have any suggestions, I’d be pleased to hear them.

  2. Mahalo, Cat… I’m sorry you’re experiencing problems. The only solution I can think of is for you to download the Vimeo app… that might help them play more smoothly. Aloha, Mick
