Snow? In Hawaii?!? Yep… the peaks of Mauna Kea on the Big Island have received about a half a foot of the white stuff over the past couple days. Not nearly the record, which was set at 2 FEET of snowfall on Mauna Kea in 2016! Nevertheless, skiing, snowball fights and snowman building can now be added to stargazing atop Hawaii’s tallest mountain… at least for awhile. Mauna Loa also received a dusting of snow. The largest mountain in the world is still rumbling… portending an eruption at some point… possibly in the not-too-distant future. Mahalo to Paradise Helicopters for the outstanding views!
